Thank you to everyone who came and supported the coffee morning organised by Eleanor Hayes the Northern Ireland Chair. £1400.00 was raised which will help so many children in Uganda. Young Conor came along to give his support and to meet Arya the barn owl.

Northern Ireland Team

Another busy day for the Northern Ireland team. Roderick has finished servicing the ambulance and the truck and has moved on to the washing machines. Eleanor Hayes and Maura Devlin have been decanting ward 2 in preparation for refurbishment work scheduled to start on Saturday. Maire Flannagan our nurse tutor is continuing with teaching sessions.


Volunteers From All Over The World…

Holy Innocents Children’s Hospital has been blessed with volunteers from all over the world. Eleanor Hayes, RGN. MSc. is a consultant based in Belfast, Northern Ireland with over 34 years’ experience including expertise in the administration of third-world health facilities. In January, 2009, Eleanor travelled to Mbarara and generously volunteered her time to Holy Innocents to help finalize the configuration of the hospital and advise on hiring and logistical issues. Holy Innocents teams in Mbarara and San Diego alike found her advice and experience to be invaluable. The quality and effectiveness of the hospital have been improved thanks to her contribution.
